ARTICLE SUMMARY: The Irish statesman Edmund Burke is often misquoted as having said, “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” Spanish philosopher George Santayana is credited with the aphorism, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it,”. Great minds think alike. Even though there is a hundred year gap between Henry Ford and Satoshi Nakamoto their ideas share the same basic principle to replacing the gold standard.
In his article “100 YEARS AGO, HENRY FORD PROPOSED ‘ENERGY CURRENCY’ TO REPLACE GOLD” Sam Bourgi looks at Henry Ford’s thought process and how replacing gold with “energy currency” would end wars and take the control of money out of the hands of the banks and the people who make money on wars no matter who wins or looses. Sam Bourgi then compares it to the crypto currency of today highlighting the similarities.
Sam Bourgi also touches on how proof-of-work mining process has drawn heavy criticism over its alleged environmental impact — a short-sighted claim that ignores Bitcoin’s ability to accelerate the shift to renewable energy.
